Abstract:
As one of the first five officially established national parks in China, Wuyishan National Park is located in the main peak area of the Wuyishan Range, spanning the administrative regions of Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. It is currently the only national park as the world mixed (cultural and natural) heritage site in China. The park harbors the healthiest population of the yellow-bellied tragopan, a representative species of China′s biodiversity, as well as sustains unique subtropical eastern forest ecosystems and typical forest animal communities. Over the four-year development of the national park, the Wuyishan National Park has consistently pursued the integrated goals of ecological protection, green development, and livelihood improvement. It has established a multi-level safeguarding system, constructed a "four-in-one" protective barrier against fire, pests, violations, and geological hazards, implemented a full-cycle project management mechanism, and explored pathways for sharing benefits and development achievements with local communities. Through these initiatives, the park has been awarded the title of "World′s Best Protected Area-IUCN Green List" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, providing valuable experience for the development of national parks across China. This report focuses on the implementation measures and achievements of Wuyishan National Park in areas such as multi-departmental collaboration, ecological benefit-sharing, and management and enforcement, aiming to offer practical insights for the high-quality development of Wuyishan National Park and other national parks across China.
